Give Blood and Help the Hungry at the Same Time



President Obama says part of being an American citizen is giving back to the community.


Here are some ways you can be of service in ours without spending money:


Pints for Pounds

The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas began the Pints for Pounds program on February 1st.  For every pint of blood donated, they will donate six pounds of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank.  The drive runs through March.

Build a House with Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity
Volunteer to build houses and work on projects in neighborhoods!  It won't cost you a thing except for a little elbow grease.  It's a great way to get outside with the whole family and help others.

Help Feed Another Family
Loaves and Fishes:
Raid your pantry for canned goods and help another family put dinner on the table.

Here are some of the items they need:
Canned meat and fruit
Peanut Butter
Pork and Beans
