Novant Health plans to hire 150 people with healthcare and technology experience for its new electronic medical records project.  The project is being based at Novant's Fort Mill, SC data center.  Eventually, as many as 300 people could be employed.  Novant is looking for people with clinical, information technology and billing experience.  They're holding job fair today from noon to 8 p.m. at Providence Plaza in Charlotte.  Job information is also available HERE. Congratulations to Olivia Jones, a 12-year-old from Charlotte, who is going to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. on May 27th!  The Charlotte Preparatory School seventh-grader won the 58th annual Charlotte Observer Regional Spelling Bee on Monday.  Olivia beat out twenty-seven other students by correctly spelling the word "nimbed" after nearly three hours and twenty-seven rounds of competition.  "Nimbed" has a silent 'b’ and describes a halo or ring of light near one's head.

Despite having the worst record in the NBA, the Charlotte Bobcats' home attendance is up 12 percent so far during this shortened season, compared to a similar period last year.  Ticket revenue is up 13 percent.  Business is also up at the team store, which now sells team owner Michael Jordan's Nike-brand gear, along with the Bobcats' Adidas items.  Merchandise sales have risen 31 percent, which is in line with the NBA average.
